kencko member spotlight: meet Liz

Liz, a San Diego-based kencko member, initially turned to kencko for a fast, flexible daily boost of fruits and veggies. But she quickly found that her morning smoothies led to other positive outcomes, like packing a healthy lunch to take to the office, and even her teenage son reaching for fruits and veggies after school.

What is your favorite kencko flavor or product, and why?

My son likes the purples the best — it’s got a great taste. But personally, I like blushes. It has a surprising kick!

 

Why did you initially decide to try kencko?

Although I try to eat healthily, I feel like I'm not always great about eating the "rainbow." I wanted a convenient solution to eating more fruits and veggies that I'd look forward to drinking every day. Before kencko, I had tried doing fresh juices from a local shop but found that solution to be cumbersome, because it involved pre-planning to pick up my bottles, super expensive, and I was always worried that I wouldn't drink all of the bottles before they went bad in the fridge.

 

How long have you been a kencko member?

I started in April with a modest 14 pack, not sure if I would like it. Then I made two or three more orders immediately of the 20 packs. And my last order was a full-on 60 pack with a 16 pack of gumdrops as well! I really love the product, and the best part is my teenager loves it too.

 

What changes have you seen in your life since becoming a kencko member?

I'm more conscious of the foods I put into my body, overall. I have also enjoyed not wasting fruit or veggies. Everything is ready for me when I need it. Perhaps the best thing that's happened since introducing kencko in my life is that my 14-year-old son now reaches for a smoothie after school, instead of an instant ramen or some other questionable/non-nutritional choice. We've enjoyed comparing notes about our favorite flavors.

 

Are there any other healthy habits, in addition to kencko, that you have implemented in your routine?

Since April, my employer has encouraged us to go back to the office a few days a week. I have found that packing a kencko to go for breakfast (usually with a scoop of protein) inspires me to pack my entire lunch for the day, as well, so I've been eating better and saving money, too.

 

Are there any key insights or things you’ve learned along your health journey while being a kencko member?

If you have delicious and easy choices at your fingertips, it makes it a lot easier to choose healthily.

 

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about trying kencko?

Definitely try it and see how easy it is to work fruits and veggies into your daily life. 

 

Would you like to share anything else about your kencko journey?

I like the fact that the packaging is compostable and I use a reusable bottle to make my smoothies every day.
